What do a dishwasher, solar energy and gas heating have in common?
They were all invented by women! And yet women often take a back seat in STEM professions. In order to put an end to gender stereotypes and promote young talent, the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ) and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), together with campaign partners from industry and education, have launched the nationwide "Girls' Day" to provide career and study guidance for girls. On this day, we want to show schoolgirls what we actually do at the Fraunhofer Institute and, ideally, inspire and motivate our young talents for our work. Because we are also convinced: No future without girls!
