Young Talents

Fraunhofer ISIT offers young people a wide range of opportunities in the areas of training, internships, FSJ and studies. As an apprentice, you will have the chance to gain practical experience at a renowned research institute and learn from experts. As an intern, you can expand your skills in various specialist areas and work on exciting projects. A voluntary social year (FSJ/FJN) offers you the opportunity to take on social responsibility and gain valuable professional experience at the same time.

As a working student, you have the opportunity to apply your theoretical knowledge from your studies in practice and write your final thesis with us at the end of your studies.

Your dream job in applied research -Come to Fraunhofer ISIT!

Do you want to help shape the future? Then you've come to the right place. Fraunhofer ISIT offers apprenticeships in the field of microsystems technology.

We not only train, but also educate!

We offer our trainees the best possible start to their professional career. This includes more than just a first-class working environment: practical work with plenty of scope for personal development makes us one of the most popular employers in Germany.

Our on-site trainers work in the middle of the action themselves. Practical skills, specialist knowledge, soft skills - you get an "all-inclusive" package. You will also learn the theory for your future profession at the vocational school (RBZ Kreis Steinburg in Itzehoe) and make new contacts in the process. Internships can also take place at partner companies and cooperation partners outside of the region to give you a broader perspective of the opportunities at ISIT. After your apprenticeship, you will have excellent opportunities with Fraunhofer know-how under your belt.

Apprenticeship
Microtechnologist

As a microtechnologist, you will manufacture microtechnical products in process engineering processes.

Your main focus is microsystems technology (MST), from which you can choose one of two further specializations: Assembly & Connection Technology or Cleanroom.

Your work will be characterized by logistics, process engineering, quality assurance, disposal and technical support. You will work in our research and development areas as well as in the clean room and laboratory.

Main focus:
Cleanroom

Here you will manufacture silicon products by applying layers, structuring, etching, doping and assembling as well as carrying out specific tests.

Fields of application: Micro-electronic-mechanical sensors (MEMS) / optical sensors (MOEMS), power semiconductors, opto-semiconductors or opto-electronic display systems.

Focus on:
assembly &
connection technology

In particular, carriers for the components are manufactured using coating processes and microsystems are produced by assembly, soldering, bonding, sealing and testing.

Areas of application: Production of circuit carriers using thick/thin film technology, hybrid technology, SMD assembly technology, production of components using lithographic deep etching or electroplating and molding technology.
