On Friday, October 15, 2021, the time has come: evening after evening, on Wednesdays to Saturdays during the following 4 weeks, the images submitted by Itzehoe's citizens will be projected onto the facade of the train station as if in a giant kaleidoscope. And that's not all: In addition, on Friday, November 5, and Saturday, November 6, this time starting at 6:30 p.m., another 200 images will let the facade of the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicon Technology ISIT at Fraunhoferstr. 1 shine in a completely new light in a special screening. Together we marvel at images from the clean room - at an aesthetic of the future.

Starting on Friday, October 15, 2021, at 7:30 p.m., the next projection of the images from the citizen participation from the district hall onto the station facade will start, transforming it into colorful worlds of experience with a great emotional factor. Over 4 weeks, evening illuminations accompany citizens into the dark season. We experience 500 new pictures - partly arranged by color, partly choreographed in thematic blocks such as "Art complements nature", "Dreams with eyes open", "Landscape and sea" and "Street art and paintings". Likewise, by popular demand, the Wenzel Hablik paintings from the premiere weekend from February 2021 will also be shown once again. The fusion of reality and illusion enchants people. Fascinating how different one's own city can feel when familiar city views are radically transformed, even temporarily, artistically by new facets - live, in real time and fantastically.

The future begins where the city ends: At Fraunhofer ISIT, behind the industrial park at Fraunhoferstrasse 1. "In the Lumen+Colours project, we see an opportunity to show a glimpse inside research for a change, to make science visible," says metallographer Katja Reiter at Fraunhofer ISIT. "In our clean room, especially under the electron microscope, small works of art are sometimes created. We collected about 120 pictures in an internal photo competition, which we submitted to the project team for the illuminations. We are particularly looking forward to the projections at Fraunhofer ISIT, because the building itself is already a work of art in its own right with its wafer structure and can now merge with the interior from the research, thus again creating a completely new aesthetic."

On Friday, November 5, 2021, and Saturday, November 6, 2021, starting at 6:30 p.m., the projections on the facade of Fraunhofer ISIT can be admired by the public: the photos of micro and nano elements, of polarized light with interference. Surprisingly, art and science are very close to each other, as the very artistic results from Fraunhofer ISIT's image collection show. All visitors are welcome at the site on that day!

Through the participation of citizens, the urban space takes on a whole new character. We experience this quite intensively in a separate view in the "VirtualSpaces" of the project. For 6 selected places in Itzehoe [the Fraunfofer ISIT, the castle, the Hablik villa, the train station, the KKS and Alsen] color worlds have been created, which summarize images in one predominant color in each case and leave the viewer plenty of room for their own thoughts. Here we move interactively in a 360-degree image space, let the virtual projection start on the facade, arrive at active points and learn interesting facts about the respective place. The viewer gets to the 360-degree view of the 6 places in each case in a camera ride through the tactile model in front of "Heaven & Earth". The 6 places for Itzehoe can be experienced here:
