Board of trustees

In accordance with the bylaws, the Executive Board appoints a Board of Trustees for each institute, including ISIT.

The Board of Trustees is composed of representatives from academia, industry, and the public sector. They serve in an advisory capacity to the institute’s management and the Society’s governing bodies. Furthermore, the Board of Trustees is tasked with fostering connections with groups interested in the institute’s research activities. 

At least once a year—usually in the spring—ISIT presents the current situation and further strategic measures for the coming year to the Board of Trustees.

We are proud that, with the members of our Board of Trustees, we have been able to assemble a high-caliber selection of experts from all fields. 

In April 2026, the ISIT Board of Trustees held its meeting. During the meeting, the members of the Board of Trustees gathered for an internal exchange and received up-to-date insights into the development of the institute and the Fraunhofer Society.

The focus was on the current organizational and financial situation, strategic development, and key research and technology topics.

The Board of Trustees also provided an opportunity to jointly assess the strategic work carried out to date and discuss the next steps for the institute’s future direction. The meeting concluded with an internal discussion among the Board members and a feedback session with the institute’s management.
